The Pamlico County Register of Deeds office is located on NC Hwy 55 at 202 Main Street, Bayboro, on the first floor of the Courthouse. Our county was formed in 1872 from portions of Craven and Beaufort counties. Our staff consists of Sue H. Whitford, Register, Lynn H. Lewis, Assistant and Janice M. Eckloff, Deputy.

Real Estate records and marriage records begin in 1872, with birth and death records beginning in the latter part of 1913. All records are public accessible and available for photocopying and certification, where applicable.

Notary public oaths are administered until 5:00 p.m.

Beer and wine licenses are issued annually, and reminders are sent to each applicable business owner prior to the renewal date.

Notice

Cutoff time for recording real estate documents is 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday due to backups that must process daily recordings.
